At the heart of the US State Department's Cultural Exchange

Just returned home from my trip to Washington DC for the IREX Teachers for Global Classrooms conference. Got to finally meet the other 72 teachers from around the country who have been working on this project. 12 of us are headed to Russia in Late March. The conference was energizing as we explored examples of each others' student work and participated in numerous education workshops and cultural trainings. Sorry there are no pics of the Mall , the White house or other monuments. There simply was no extra time for sight seeing. The Fairmont Hotel was amazing, eating out in Georgetown was just darned fun and a huge thank you goes out to the IREX staff for such a terrific, challenging and enlightening event. I think perhaps the best part: My principal was able to join me for this excursion to learn more about this program. We both came away energized and full of new ideas.
Exhausted!
My principal, Mr. Huff, and I at the conference.
