Visiting a STEM School and and Arts school in Moscow

Time is really short for me this morning, so will simply post several photos of our school visit to a public Lyceum (STEAM) school we visited a couple of days ago in Moscow. Headed off this morning to our school in Khabarovsk where we are excited to be observing and doing some co-teaching there for the next week.

Here are some pictures of the outside of the school we visited: Lyceum #1537.

It is a tradition here in Russia to greet visitors with bread and salt. We each broke off a piece of bread, dipped in\t into the salt and ate it. Delicious salty bread!

An example of artwork done by the students in the cafeteria.

Students stand when their teachers and guests enter into the room. I think I am beginning to like this idea!

They put out special centerpieces at our tables to welcome us. I love the idea of education being the bridge between people and their cultures to make the world a better place!

The STEM school had students give presentations for some of their projects. Every student I've met here is very dedicated to their education.

A bulletin board in the hallway with an anti-drug message. The heart-shaped poster in the middle says: Russia without narcotics. In your hands is the future.

Students can choose a cafeteria lunch or opt to purchase items from the cafeteria "Canteen" if they prefer.
